What is Chase Popote Service?
Chase Popote is an agency banking service where the bank appoints existing businesses to offer a variety of banking services, on its behalf to its clients.
What is a Chase Popote Outlet?
A Chase Popote outlet is a retail outlet contracted by the Bank, to process clients’ transactions. Rather than a branch teller, it is the owner or an employee of the retail outlet who carries out the transactions and helps the Chase client deposit, withdraw, and transfer funds, pay their bills, inquire about an account balance, or receive government benefits or a direct deposit from their employer.
Chase Popote outlets are drawn from reputable retail and corporate outlets that include Supermarkets, Chemists, Dry Cleaners, Malls, Petrol Stations, Mobile Telco agents and any other CBK approved business.
Where are Chase Popote outlets located?
Chase Bank Agent outlets will be located in major towns within all the 47 counties of Kenya.

What is needed to run a Chase Popote Outlet?
Any business wishing to become a Chase agent needs to meet the basic minimum requirements in terms of location, security, nature of business and financial capability
Sole Proprietorships, Partnerships and limited Liability companies are all eligible.

How do agents make their money?
Chase Popote outlets earn attractive commissions paid by the bank for the services offered on behalf of the bank.
How does the Chase Popote Service work?
- Customer walks into a Chase Popote outlet with their ID, ATM Card or Mobile Phone.
- Customer accesses his account using their ATM card/mobile
- Agent processes client transaction via Point Of Sale /Mobile
- Customer is issued with a receipt and a signed copy retained by the agent.
Do I need to have a bank account with Chase Bank to access banking services at a Chase Popote Outlet?
Yes. In agency banking, all transactions are carried out through the account you hold with Chase Bank.
What is the main difference between Chase Popote Banking Service and M-PESA/ZAP/YU Cash or Orange Money mobile money transfers?
Chase Popote banking services offer the clients with a wide range of products, serving as an extension of the banking hall service.
Do I need to pay any service charges for the services to an agent?
No. The Chase Agency Banking System automatically debits - your account as you transact.
Do I need to have a minimum amount in my account? Yes. Your Chase bank account’s normal limits will still be maintained.
Do I need to register at a Chase Popote outlet for me to access the banking services?
No. Every Chase Bank customer will be able to transact at a Chase Popote Outlet using their Chase Bank ATM cards
How much does it cost to transact at a Chase Popote Outlet?

The customer is charged 0.5% of the amount deposited as cash handling fee of amounts from Ksh 500,001 to Ksh 1,000,000
All other charges will be in line with the already approved tariffs for their respective products already offered in Chase Bank. The customer’s account will be debited directly
Do I need an ID to transact at a Chase Popote outlet?
You are required to present your original Identification Card for any transaction at a Chase Popote outlet.
Acceptable Identification documents include: Kenyan National ID, avalid Government of Kenya issued Alien ID or a valid national Passport.
Does the Chase Popote banking service work across the other bank agents?
No. For now you can only access your Chase Bank account at a Chase Bank branded agent, Chase bank ATM or any Kenswitch or Pesapoit ATM.
